It is thought that this breed appeared as a result of the Tibetan Mountain Dog and the Pekingese mix. Dogs of this breed were favored pets of the Emperor in ancient China. These animal were naturally bred to be pets and are unhappy when they do not have people home; some of them can even become rather destructive.
